Ekaterina Sky is an artist working in watercolor and sustainable 24K gold leaf on archival paper. She calls her practice impact art: work in which the painting and its effect on the living world are inseparable.
The paintings are the center. The murals, the conversations, the stages, the trees and the book all extend outward from them. This page is a map of that reach.
In Community
Prayer for the Earth became a wall in Altadena in July 2025, painted over four days with residents after the Eaton fire. Earlier murals were made with communities in Borneo, Bali and Black Rock City. The work is offered to the places that need it, and made with the people who live there.
Artful Impact
A conversation series at the intersection of art, science and the living world, released in seasons. Guests have come from the Jane Goodall Institute, Age of Union, BODYTRAFFIC, and Sea Shepherd and Greenpeace campaigns.
Life Force Trees
A defined, receipted share of every sale supports forest protection, in partnership with Health In Harmony’s community-led conservation in Borneo. Life Force Trees invites everyone to plant their 165 native trees, each person’s share of the trillion the planet has room for. Life Force is a fiscally sponsored project of the Collidescope Foundation.

From COP30 in Belém to Carnegie Hall in New York, Ekaterina speaks on beauty as a gateway to ecological responsibility, and on art as a cultural tool for change.
The Book
A memoir, complete in manuscript, on the years in which the work was formed: from the rainforests of Borneo to the making of Prayer for the Earth.
Where This Is Going
Everything on this page leads to one place. Ekaterina is working toward a permanent home for the work: a site on protected land, where the paintings live in the landscape they were made for, and where people come to sit with the art and the living world at the same time. Protecting that land is part of the work itself. It is a lifelong project, still at its beginning.
